Earthley's Certifications and Standards

After nearly 10 years, Earthley has made great strides in our manufacturing process – and our push for certifications. We take the quality of our products and the trust of our customers very seriously. Currently, we have two certifications through third parties (cGMP and Leaping Bunny) with others in process.

cGMP

Earthley is cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) certified for both dietary supplements and cosmetics (which covers all lotions, soaps, skin care, and other topical products). cGMP is a third-party certification through SGS that ensures that Earthley meets strict standards in our manufacturing process.

These standards include:

• Traceability of raw materials from the moment they enter our building until they are to the consumer in a finished good
• Identity testing of all raw materials to ensure accuracy
• Closely tracking each batch to ensure our recipes are followed exactly, ensuring consistent product quality
• Quality checks at multiple steps in the process, including the final product
• Cleanliness of the production space
• Preventative maintenance of all equipment
• Clear records of everything that happens during the production process

Getting certified is a lengthy process that requires a lot of documentation and site visits from auditors to prove everything. We are always raising standards around here as we grow! We are certified as of summer 2025 and re-certified in summer 2026.

Additionally, our facility is registered with the FDA (as required by law) and subject to regular surprise audits to ensure compliance with all regulations related to the manufacturing of dietary supplements and topical products. We have thus far had one FDA audit and passed with no major issues!

ISO 22716

Earthley is ISO 22716 certified. This certification covers the storage of raw materials and cleanliness of manufacturing for cosmetics and topical products. This certification guarantees:

• Ingredients are stored appropriately
• Batches are closely tracked
• Products are fully traceable

This certification guarantees that Good Manufacturing Practices are followed for all topical products.

MoCRA

Earthley is also MoCRA compliant. MoCRA = Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act. This was a substantial expansion of oversight in an industry that often uses potentially dangerous chemicals in their products. Since we only use safe ingredients, compliance was easy for us! This compliance means:

• Production facilities have to register with the FDA
• Mandatory reports of any adverse events that occur
• Mandatory recalls in the case of adverse events
• Companies must prove any new ingredients are safe before using them
• Companies must provide transparent information about "fragrance"
• Companies who use talc or PFAS must do enhanced safety testing

We are proudly MoCRA compliant and use only safe ingredients in our products!

Leaping Bunny

The Leaping Bunny certification is a commitment not to test on animals – and not just finished products, but all raw materials, too. It requires working with suppliers to ensure that they do not test on animals as well.

Leaping Bunny requires an annual recommitment to ensure that companies are serious. We have been Leaping Bunny certified for several years.

Additional Certifications

Earthley is in the process of obtaining other certifications, including:

• Organic
• Non-GMO

There are others that are in the works behind the scenes, and we will update on this page when we are actively seeking or have been formally certified, so check back often!

Getting the cGMP certification was a key step towards the Organic and Non-GMO certifications. At this time, although we are not (yet!) certified organic, we do use mostly certified organic ingredients, especially in our dietary supplements. We expect to be certified in 2026.

Is Earthley Wellness Safe?

Yes! Our certifications and standards prove that we take consumer safety very seriously. All of our products undergo a rigorous quality check after manufacturing, as well as third party testing.

We start with the cleanest, least processed ingredients, mix them carefully, and produce some of the safest, most effective products on the market.

We made these products originally for our own families...and we still use them ourselves. We care greatly about the health and safety of your family, too!

The FDA Warning Letter

If you’ve searched us on the internet, you might have found an FDA warning letter dated April 2020. Google’s AI is very fond of pointing it out.

We received this letter because of the wording used on our website. We used the word “COVID” when discussing how our respiratory support products may help with mild symptoms. The FDA and FTC asked us to remove this wording and we did. The whole thing was fully resolved in just a couple of weeks, and we have had no further warning letters.

At no point have we had issues with product contamination, safety, mislabeled drugs, or anything else. The one and only warning letter was a matter of wording on the website and nothing more. Our products were and have always remained safe to use.
